I would get Queue for LFR if I still need a piece of gear Fly around looking for materials to AH while I wait for queue to pop, Complete bg, Complete instance and get some WOW gold. Do Tillers dailies, possibly while waiting for another bg if first one was a loss. Get frustrated with players whose noobishness is costing precious time. Dammit: why can't you defend the flag and not fight in the road? Now I have to do another bg. Mine more ore while I wait for LFR...
Each step towards making the game more efficient has had good reasons for it, but I feel that the cumulative effect, of which flying is very much a part, has been negative in terms of community and enjoyment. I like the Quel'danas Isle approach to keeping things immersive. We've had flying for so long that to remove it or not have it in future content would negate a heck of a lot of work that a large number of players have put into collecting mounts and WOW gold as well as paying for the skills.
I remember havinga decent amount of liquid cash on tiny new server in BC, so much that I funded a few loans to guildies for their flying (though only very few actually paid me back, but it wasn't a big deal as we could play together.)
Personally, I really enjoy flying around and looking at the scenery that the art team has worked so much on. Removing flying would make it harder to be able to see beauty and awe of this world they have created for us. Additionally, I really like Easter eggs that can only be accessed whilst flying. So, I do see where the Street is coming from. I think (as others have mentioned) that it would be helpful to make it less of a breeze to fly. Give the birds a larger aggro radius; make it really difficult to fly into an enemy city. These things will place a cost of WOW gold on flying and possibly evening out the convenience factor a bit.
